Explore the compelling story of figurative art in European Modernism and learn more about the exhibition through the fascinating lens of the collector.

The Mistress and the Muse: Selections from the Isabelle and Scott Black Collection provides inspiration to explore portraiture, from surrealist paintings by René Magritte to Cubist works by Pablo Picasso to the colorful pastels of children and dancers by Mary Cassatt and Edgar Degas. In our Pop-Up Studio, use props and costumes and pose so someone can draw a portrait of you—or just draw a self portrait. Family-friendly gallery tours provide context. Guest artist Anne Sibley O'Brien will share her portraits and offer feedback on your artwork.
